Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pick-up. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, associated charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Hucknall, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type. A valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided. Additional requirements may be listed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Hucknall office. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be required. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally expected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed by both parties. Please ensure that the vehicle is returned in its original condition, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. If you foresee a delay in returning the vehicle, please notify us as soon as possible, as late returns may result in extra charges. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that occur during your rental period, along with a corresponding administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find comprehensive coverage details and any excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to help minimize your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain responsible for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you have additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or breach of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on your booking type and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Keep in mind that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- Usage of the vehicle for any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. This includes participation in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must not be used for purposes it was not intended for, nor should passenger or weight limits be exceeded. Additionally, driving outside the specified geographical limits requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Hucknall will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the preceding year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent actions.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in England and Wales.
